Whittonstall sits on the B6309 and is approached by a steep hill both from the North and the South. There are newly refurbished pavements the length of the village on both sides of the road. There is a salt bin ( damaged and in need of replacement) adjacent to Whittonstall First school to the South of the village and this salt bin ensures access to salt the application of which to pavements ensures the safety of pedestrians by to counteracting the slippery conditions during icy and frosty weather. At the North end if the village there is no salt bin and pavements remain dangerously slippery when temperatures drop below zero . Please provide a salt bin to the North of the village to allow access to of salt to ensure safe passage on the paths at this end of the village.
