A Other Right of Way Issue problem has been found

Reported via desktop in the Other Right of Way Issue category anonymously at 14:27, Fri 6 December 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6828083.

Path has been used by residents for over 50/60 years and owner of the surrounding field has placed signs up at both gates saying 'DIERECT LINE IS A PERMISSIVE FOOTPATH' Please could you give resident a call or send an email to advise if path can be adopted due to length of time residents have used it? Many Thanks

  • The signs on both entry and exit gates stating the path below Chapel House is permissive is still there. I have been shouted at by the land owner and feel very nervous using the path on my own.

  • Land owner very aggressive- refused to call off growling snarling dog (ours on leaders- his wasn’t) Heavy use of creosote (illegal since 2003 ) on gates( difficult to avoid damage to clothes.) Yellow footpath signs removed and replaced with inaccurate signs- he claims the route has been changed - no parish council record. The paths he wants us to use is impassable when using walking sticks or if there’s walking difficulties. This problem has not been addressed
