Overgrown shrubs reducing accessibility along pathway

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6541708.

The pathway linking pilgrims way and abbey meadows is considerably overgrown. As an adjacent property owner people are complaining to us to get something done. I reported this earlier this year to find the matter was closed, with no comment and no work done. The walkway is now down to one paving width restricted access and little lighting on a night time The shrubs need cutting back to restore the double path width access and allowing the two street lights to provide lighting on the path during evenings. Thanks

  • This has previously been reported with no action taken. People walking down the path keep asking me to do something about it. Clearly it is not my responsibility, however I have now reported it twice this year with no response or work undertaken

  • The overgrown tree/bush problem has not been resolved and there has not been any response to my request, except this second questionnaire.

  • After 3 months and a third questionnaire completed, the overgrown trees have not been cut back, which are reducing access and giving reduced lighting to the path access way. In addition, I have had no response from the council on the request.

  • This is the 4th update. No work has been done since the original request on 2nd Oct 24. There has been no communication, other than these update requests, to indicate that work will be done or not. I'm losing confidence in the relevant department of NCC. Please advise if this work is to be undertaken. Thanks
