Illegally parked vehicle

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 17:29, Friday 30 August 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6418065.

The parking of the vehicle obstructs the view of drivers leaving Islestone Court and forces them to edge into the stream of traffic leaving the vehicle before they can see. This vehicle had two wheels on the footpath completely obstructing pedestrian access, affecting safety, all afternoon.

  • Parking on double yellow lines is a major issue in Bamburgh. Visitors believe that because it is a rural location then it is ok to do this. The same reasons apply for the presence of double yellow lines here as well as anywhere else, they are there for public safety. Parking in this particular area obstructs the view of vehicles travelling into and out of the village and causes congestion with some vehicles mounting the pavement instead of waiting for oncoming traffic to pass safely.
