New road surface too low compromising the dropped kerb access to shared driveway
Reported via mobile in the Kerbs - Missing category anonymously at 14:04, Friday 12 July 2024
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6222601.
When road was resurfaced, the road was finished lower than original resulting in our dropped kerb not being low enough to be deemed a dropped kerb - it is like a normal kerb now, with a signifigant step which should be lower. (This is situated between 19 and 21 Church Avenue for accessing the shared drive). This is also the case on opposite side of road between 20 and 22 Church Avenue. When the road was recently resurfaced, the contractor removed the edging bricks which resulted in the road surface being a lot lower than it previously was. There is potential of damage to wheels / tyres constantly driving over the higher kerb.

Also, when it rains it leaves a puddle which does drain away to the drain located approx. 10 metres away down the street.
