  • The problem, overgrown laurel hedges, has not been addressed yet. The laurel is growing around the trunks of the trees, so needs cutting back, also thinning, but no reducintion of the height, please, as we need that to hide the view of the rickety buildings of the allotments. Also, the laurel hedge at the south end of the car park is extremely overgrown, and is blocking the light to the ground floor apartment next to it.

  • The shrubs in thecar park area of Cromwell Court have not been maintained at all during the 5 years I have lived here, and as I said earlier, the laurel shrubs now envelope the tree trunks and need to be removed from them. Also the shrubs need to be thinned, but absolutely not the height, as the height is needed to hide the allotments.

  • I cannot stress too strongly how the shrubs and trees edging the car park at Cromwell Court need to be managed, having been untouched during the five years I have lived here. But not the height of the shrubs - there is no restricted visibility - the height needs to be maintained to block the view of the untidy allotments. The shrubs need thinning, and the overgrowth of them removed from the trunks of the trees. When the developer of the site bought the land on which to build Cromwell Court, around 2005, I understand, the council refused to sell the piece of land with the grass and trees on the western perimeter of the site, the one bordering the allotments. Thus, the area is not maintained by Cromwell Court's maintenance firm who do maintain the garden at the east facing aspect. I would greatly appreciate, when council workmen do arrive to do the work, that they contact me at number 21 so I can ensure they are aware of what exactly needs to be done. Megan Allan.
