Road markings/hatching very indistinct

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 20:30, Wednesday 20 March 2024

Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5745244.

When travelling south on Monday down the A697 and moving over to the right in the priority lane to make a turn into Dobbies Garden Centre, I narrowly avoided a head-on crash as a vehicle travelling north who wanted to cross the A697 towards the layby opposite Dobbies or onto the road which accesses the A1 via High Highlaws entered the priority lane for south-travelling vehicles to try and get across the road to the east side of the A697. The road markings need to be repainted or else a head-on crash/fatality may occur. The car driver attempting this incorrect manouevre in the wrong part of the road corrected his position to be nearside Dobbies thus avoiding a serious accident for us all.
