Tree causing damage to vehicles parked outside garage block
Reported via mobile in the Trees damaging private property category anonymously at 23:25, Thu 21 September 2023
Sent to Northumberland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5019681.
Case numbers 101008090621 and 101008301760. I have reported this matter twice in the last year, both times the council have sent a guy out and both times he has knocked at the door and agreed that the risk to property and public safety is significant and that he will mark it down as priority for urgent pruning. Nothing has happened. The tree sap has caused the paint to break down on one of my vehicles which will now cost me almost £300 to repaint. My other vehicles are covered in green algae and sap and I'm having to pay £20 a week to have them cleaned to avoid permanent paint damage. Wind speeds were high again yesterday and debris was again dislodged from the tree and hitting or landing on the vehicles. It's really unacceptable that this matter continues to be ignored and that I am having to spend £80 a month to rectify the damage caused. That's £960 a year that I could be spending on a family holiday or my entire Christmas budget. If action is not taken within the next 10 working days then I will submit a claim for damages caused to recuperate my expenditure. The council have had ample opportunity now since my first and second reports of this issue which were in November of 2022 and march 2023, it is now almost October and I feel that I have been more than patient in waiting for a resolution.
